Now that you are familiar with how to properly conduct a sample literature review, you will practice this skill as you compare articles based on the area of emotion which most interests you. Empirical articles present original research conducted or personally observed by the author(s). For this assignment, locate the six perennial questions in your text and decide which question focuses on the area of emotion you would like to research. You are to select 3 articles for comparison, each within the realm of your chosen question focus from the text readings. The articles you select must include the following elements: a description of the study, an introduction, a research question, an explanation of the study’s methodology, a presentation of the results of the study, and a conclusion that discusses the results and suggests topics for further study.

To successfully complete the assignment:

Article 1

The first study was done by Gonzalez-Robles et al. The search generated 52 randomized controlled trials, consisting of 7007 adult participants. The study’s findings showed that only 40% of the studies indicated incidences of at baseline while also examining the impacts of the interventions directed towards comorbid disorders. The results confirmed further that most trans-diagnostic treatments only target Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Somatoform Disorder (SAD), and depression. As a result, it concluded that most patients having comorbid disorders show higher levels of severity, disability and chronicity from the disorders. The trans-diagnostic approach for treating ED offers the most appropriate and safe management for comorbidity. (2028) on “Psychometric Properties of the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS) and Its Short Forms in Adults with Emotional Disorders.” The study aimed to determine the Difficulty in Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS) psychometric features for older individuals with emotional dysregulation. Second, to determine the extent to which DEES and its subscales could predict responses to cognitive-behavioural treatment (CBT). Its final objective was to examine the psychometric characteristics of shorter versions of DERS, including DERS-SF, DERS-18, and DERS16. Generally, the study was critical since it was the first to use the structural equation models (SEM) framework for examining the predictive reliability of DERS. The study involves examining the psychometric characteristics of DERS and its standard shorter versions. The results indicated strong internal consistency for the subscales except for awareness. It also showed improved CBT response at the intake due to severe emotion regulation and a negative CBT response during stress, resulting from more severe impairment in goal-oriented activity.
